Tonight we said goodbye to the sweetest, kindest, most endearing creature I've ever had the good fortune of knowing. If only we all could embody an ounce of her goodness, the world would be a better place.

I'm so sorry. Nothing can replace the love of a pup. My heart is sad even though I don't know you, 'cause I know how much I love my pup who's getting gray and struggling to stand up after long walks.

I'm always extra sad when I read a goodbye post to a beloved pet on an adoption blog. Our pets see us through so much heartache and are like children to us, especially those of us who have been on a long journey to parenthood.
We're also preparing to say goodbye to our dog. It breaks my heart. I'm so sorry for your loss. I absolutely feel positive that there is a heaven for dogs (and hopefully people!!)
