And growing …

I think the little one has hit a growth spurt—here I am today, at 31 weeks and a few days.

I find it hard to believe I still have another two months of growing to do. Apparently so did the waitress who served brunch to me, Sidamo and Greg's grandma this morning. She looked at me and said, "Wow! You're about to go!"

"Actually, no," I said. "It's still two months away." But thanks.

When she walked away, I said to Greg's grandma, "You know, no one should ever ask a pregnant woman if she's about to pop." Grandma agreed and then followed up with a very concerned, "But has your doctor put any limit on your weight gain?" Again, thanks.

What's funny is that I've actually not gained much at all—less than the recommended amount, in fact. I can only imagine the comments I'll be getting when I'm 9 months pregnant, especially now that I've given up reigning in my ice cream cravings. Last night I was trying to fix our broken ice cream scooper, and Greg said, "What's the point? You're going to eat it straight out of the container, anyway." He had a point.

You look fantastic! Servers should know better. A guy I worked with once congratulated a girl on her pregnancy...and she was not pregnant...not good. Hope the next two months fly.
Good Luck!

You look so good! Don't you just love the comments!?!? People either think you look "small" or "ready to go"...changes one day to the next. No worries in a few months you'll be back to your old self...so enjoy these days of endless ice cream (actually those continue too with breastfeeding :).

You look fabulous!! Unsolicited pregnancy comments are just a highlight of this time, aren't they? I still want to strangle the Target cashier who felt the need the comment on the amount of chocolate I was buying at 8 months pregnant....

You are too funny, and you look perfect. I walked into a hospital the other day and the security gaurd exclaimed "Is it time??" I was like, ummmm....time for what? Oh, that. Pshhhffff. I really think this must happen to all pregnant women. Someone also sweetly told me that "my face is starting to fill out"....really??

Actually, you looked quite slender to me!
Here's a funny thing, meeting you in person, you look and even sound remarkably like my Casablanca-born cousin. I'm not sure how to explain why you sound like her (she has a distinct French accent) but you have a similar manner of speech. She headed up Yale's romance language department for years, and was my idol when I was in grade school.
